A third season of Uprise Champions Cup has been announced, this time the league will hand out $10,000 in travel support and prizemoney at the LAN finals in Moscow on September 26-27. The second season, which ran over the course of two months, featured a total of $3,000 and it was Vega Squadron going home with the $1,000 first-place prize after defeating PiTER 2-0. This season will feature more than three times that, $10,000, half of which will go into the prize pot and the other half will be sent out to the LAN finals teams in the form of travel support.
16 teams will battle in four groups for six spots in the finals, taking place in Moscow, Russia on September 26-27. Three teams received a direct invite for the online phase - Gamers2, MortalKombat and ENCORE - while the rest came from the second season:
Last season's champions Vega Squadron have already suffered a defeat at the hands of Phenomenon and will meet Renaissance in the first elimination match of group A. |
